DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION ● A commissioning engineer is a forward facing representative of Macgregor who provides onsite technical support to our customers in the final phase of project completion. ● The commissioning engineer ensures that Macgregor equipment is installed according to drawings and specifications. Once the installation is completed, documented and safe for start-up, a commissioning engineer will carry out testing and commissioning of the equipment in order to fulfil contractual and regulatory requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ● Responsible for ensuring the installation of Macgregor equipment is done according to specification and liaise with engineering to resolve issues discovered onsite. ● Read and interpret engineering drawings as well as communicate these requirements to clients as required. ● Prepare and/or contribute to the detailed planning required for safe and efficient project execution. ● Carry out Electrical inspections to verify that equipment is safe for start up, and to document deficiencies. ● Execute safe and efficient start-up/commissioning of equipment according to documentation. ● Acceptance testing of equipment to relevant certifying bodies and end-customers. ● Comply with MacGregors and customers HSE policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to people, environments and assets. ● Plan, execute and provide detailed reporting of all activities in the installation and commissioning phases. ● Actively participate in safety meetings and safe job analysis. ● Collect and document detailed information regarding deviations or opportunities to drive product/process improvements. ● Other responsibilities when necessary may be determined by the line manager POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: ● Education within Electrical, Instrumentation or PLC programing disciplines or equivalent. Extensive experience from similar positions may compensate for forducation. Experience: ● Minimum of 3 years of relevant E&I or PLC experience in heavy industry such as Maritime Transport, Offshore Oil and Gas or Shipbuilding. Other industries may be considered. ● Experience VFD Drives, electric winches, cranes, or industrial elevators considered an asset ● Experience with Siemens drives or Siemens PLC is considered an asset. ● Multi-discipline experience such as Mechanical/Electrical or Electrical/PLC considered and asset
