Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Designs and scales up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment. Plans, designs and estimates time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components. Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.

1 Lead all aspects of Design related to the project internally and externally, lead

and supervise all relevant communication, lead all aspects of the project
which are related to the design and engineering; setup and supervise the
technical standards for the project in concordance with the project scope of
work and in alignment with the Project Manager. Provide direct project
related supervision to Project Discipline Leads, Space Manager and Project
CAD Coordinator. Attend overall project coordination meetings.

2 Manage the project design setup and follow up according to the project start-up checklists and Design Management Checklists and the project Scope of Works to manage the Project Deliverable Plan. Submit to the Project Manager for approval and report the current status regularly to Project Manager and Regional Engineering Manager. Provide monthly reports for the project design and input to the monthly project report.

3 Review project scope, the design deliverables and the related design organization regularly. Manage the project design manpower planning in collaboration with the Project Manager and highlight gaps or inefficiencies in manpower and / or qualification to the Management.

4 Establish and maintain Project Engineering Execution Plan

(EEP) and related project procedures, Communicate and implement EEP to the
project team, conduct training as required

5 Establish, submit for approval and keep up-to-date the Project Design Criteria or Basis of Design (BOD) based on the project understanding of Design Scope and Change Management Process. Lead all design related Change Control. Maintain the Project Design Issues List.

6 Define the Project Design Tools strategy in collaboration

with the Project Discipline Leads under Exyte Standard Tools for Design like
the EMP (Engineering Management Platform) and the Design and Construction
Platform (DCP). Define and maintain the Project VDC Standard together with the Project VDC Coordinator. Define the Space Management Strategy and Functional Area split together with the Project Space Manager.

7 Define the Project System List, Mains / Laterals Strategy, Equipment and Room Tagging System (Facility Designation System) by utilizing EMP

8 Support the setup and follow the Design Schedule with the Project Scheduler including breaking out all required internal and external reviews and submissions related to the design packages. Maintain the Design Schedule by active Change Control. Track and Report the Design Status and Deliverables in accordance with the project / design schedule by using EMP, DCP and use tracking and reporting functions. Ensure by conducting scheduled reviews in own responsibility, that design intent, design schedule and design quality standards are met.

9 Manage,initiate and encourage coordination between all design parties. Lead and encourage the coordination of all interdisciplinary interfaces and data

management.

10 Responsible for the design quality, setup and maintenance

of Inter-disciplinary documents and coordination. Review status of key
documents via weekly reviews with Project Discipline Leads. Lead weekly
overall design coordination meetings

11 Lead the Submittal Process. Ensure the design submittals to client, authorities and sub-contractors are done in accordance to the project procedures. Supervise all client work package related submittals, mock-ups, tests and inspections according to ITPs with CM and Work Package Owners

12 Manage specialty consultants which are not managed under

other respective Project Disciplines

13 Support the Tender Process. Review Specifications

/ General Conditions, Review and approve design and tender packages together
with responsible Project Discipline Lead. Lead the identification and
technical pre-qualification of potential bidders, review and approve the
technical evaluation of tender returns.

14 Provide input to subcontractor & client RFI’s and submittals following project control procedures

15 Lead the Design Close-Out. Manage, review and verify As-built, Ops &

Maintenance and Record Documentation according to project close-out checklist
prior to project being substantially complete.

16 Encourage or perform and lead the various Lessons Learned

Workshops during the project after major design steps, collect inputs from
the design process, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
(whatever is applicable and visible). Ensure the open communication about
Lessons Learned with regard to the design, ensure the collection of the
inputs following company standards within the Lessons Learned System. Facilitate the input of Lessons Learned issues from other projects to the project design during the design process by utilizing company standard documents under continuous improvement process.
