We are seeking independent and creative Research Investigators to join Dr. Ao Hu’s group.

The main research focuses of Dr. Ao Hu’s group are:

• Immune cell engineering via synthetic signaling.
• Novel therapeutics against autoimmune diseases.
• Methodology development for targeted delivery.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidates will

• Design and execute general molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical assays for early-stage proof-of-concept studies and mechanism of action exploration.
• Record, analyze and discuss experimental results in a timely fashion.
• Present data during internal discussion and bring scientific insights to aid in decision making.
• Address common technical issues though literature searching and experimental validation.

Requirements:

The success applicants should:

• Hold a master’s degree and have significant interest and experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
• Be skilled in basic biology techniques, such as molecular cloning, western blotting, cell culture, cell genetic manipulation (transfection, knockout or overexpression), multi-color FACS and small-scale recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells.
• Knowledge in primary immune cell culture is a plus.
• Good problem-solving skills for experimental troubleshooting.
• Fluent in English for literature reading and information searching.
• Multi-tasking ability, possess and demonstrate a willingness to learn and employ new skill sets.
• Should have the ability to work in a team-orientated environment.
