The AcceleratiON Programme is the BMW Group’s international graduate programme offering the opportunity to jumpstart the career of talented graduates and young professionals.
Through completing four different assignments, participants work in various parts of the BMW Group including BMW headquarters in Munich and another international BMW market.
During their assignments, participants gain insights into business processes, strategy, culture, and the BMW Group brands from both a local and global perspective.
Establishing an excellent international network while working on strategic and operational projects in three different countries, the programme provides a solid basis for a successful international career at the BMW Group.
Responsibilities:
6 months / China, Beijing / EC-EA-3, home country and home department
Scope: Electric Machine development Team
Target/Task:
- Leading Inverter key components technical scouting. Get overview technology future trend overview for key CN leading suppliers and key components, e.g. Power Module, AC Current Sensor, Nano-core, etc.
- Leading Inverter Scouting reports, technical seminar. Based on supplier visit, supplier exchange, technical materials, etc. make deeper interpretation; Summarize insight and identify advantage/disadvantages.
- Support serial development projects. a. GEN6 INV CN local direct-buy sub-component, b. local industrialization project, c. local total buy-INV project.
- Participant/contribution into power electronic expert round.
3 months / Germany, Munich / EA-36x, placement in BMW Head Quarter (AG):
Scope: Control Units Development, Head Quarter
Target/Task:
- Engage into INV BE-Team round for specific sub-components to get deep dive. E.g. design expert team / simulation expert team.
- Get development structure insight from BE-TEAM to Module.
- Innovation center / pre-development / research area on INV.
6 months / China, Beijing / MC-5x, project in home country (2nd major field)
Scope: QMT & Purchase for electronic parts
Target/Task:
- QMT working process/tool, QMT milestone, and quality management mindset.0
- Further support serial development projects, working together from QMT perspective.
- Purchase working process/tool, SPS, QfQ process.
- Balanced view from QMT (QMT/Purchase/Development)
3 months / Austria, Steyr / EA-46x, 3rd country
Scope: Electronic development for PSM
Target/Task:
- Focus on PSM INV design.
- Engage into INV-inhouse production at Steyr on production process, devices, etc.
Other projects and tasks assigned by line manager, e.g. supplier visit, technical seminar, patent/innovation initiative workshop, etc.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred in Electrical Engineering or Automotive Engineering, especially with Major/Background related to Power Electronics, Power Semi-Conductor, E-machine & Inverter, or similar.
- Fluent English is a must and Fluent German is a huge plus.
- Business-fluent language skills in the local language
- Initiative, personal accountability, willingness to change, team spirit, and self-reflection
- Readiness for an international career
- Strong experience in power electronic or power semi-conductor and strong will to take this direction as career
- Strong organizational and project leadership skills
- Highly self-motivated and structured problem solving abilities are essential attributes as is the ability to priorities high levels of workload.
- Confident and competent presentation and communication skills
Experience:
- At least 6 months of relevant work experience (e.g. internships, training, initial professional experience) up to a maximum of 2-3 years’ professional working experience.
- At least 4 months of relevant experience abroad (e.g. studies, practical experience, work & travel) should be demonstrated on CV.
- Extracurricular involvement (e.g. initial leadership experience in a university, community, or work setting, engagement in a student project, political or charity organization)
