Purpose of Job
? To provide support for children within in PK, K1, K2, K3 with the teaching and support of the Harrow Little Lions Curriculum( LLC) and Chinese Government Guidelines(MOE) of children.
? To co-work with the teacher and the school in providing outstanding standards of achievement for all pupils within the Kindergarten, contribute to the learning and teaching activities in Little Lions.
? To encourage children to become independent learners, to ensure their safety and welfare and support the inclusion of children in all aspects of school life.
? To plan Little Lions events/ trips according to school calendar and children’s interest.
? To liaise with and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and parents and other professionals to play a key role in communication with parents.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Co-Plan and work with foreign teachers to define clear teaching objectives and conduct teaching and assessment in accordance with school requirements to support high quality teaching and learning and help raise achievement standards for all students.
? Understand and implement the Harrow Little Lion curriculum while promoting both internal and external independent learning and self-reliance and interdependence among students. Observe the child's performance and participation, record feedback on the child's progress and learning using a curriculum related assessment system, maintain student assessment records, and prepare necessary student learning reports for parents.
? Provide support for each child and group, introducing activities and using a range of strategies to support learning for all children. Develop, plan and teach appropriate support programs for students, consult and share information about the child's needs and progress. To implement the school’s behaviour policy and rewards and sanctions policy consistently and effectively.
? To take care of the physical health of the child, including self-care and the personal needs of other children, and to implement relevant personal programmes. Assumes all care tasks related to the physical health of the child in accordance with the regulations of the school and supports the life skills teacher in carrying out their duties related to this.
? To attend meetings during contracted hours to discuss children's progress with parents and other professionals as well as Kindergarten meetings.
? To actively support the school's vision, values and ethos, to be familiar with, actively support and comply with all the school policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Child Protection and Behaviour.
? To accompany children and teachers on educational visits and trips during contracted hours, accompany children and teachers on educational visits and school trips during contract time, plan and arrange related activities or trips according to the curriculum and school calendar.
? Manage children’s behaviour, reporting conflict and incidents in accordance with schools policies and procedures.
Requirements
Education, training and qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Preschool Education or other related majors
? A teaching certificate.
Work Experience Requirement
? 2 or more years of relevant experience
Required Professional Skills and Knowledge
? Holder of Chinese Kindergarten Teacher Certification
? Bilingual English/Chinese proficiency; overseas study experience desirable
? Be a good or outstanding teacher.
? Being familiar with the use of multimedia and technology in teaching
? Having a strong passion for education
? Be a skilled communicator, highly responsible and up to date with recent developments in pedagogy.
